Common questions

Short answers, tied to the spec.

If a question is about a feeling, the answer is still a number or a rule. If you cannot find the row you need, write to [email protected] or use the contact form.

Do I need gym experience?

No. Desk Reset and Base Strength are written for a first structured block. You still sit the baseline. The loads in week 1 will be small if the battery says they should be small. What we do need is a willingness to log sets and to retest. If you want a class that starts together to music, this is the wrong room.

Can I skip the assessment?

No. The assessment is the start of the product. Open Floor still requires it. Without a baseline there is nothing to retest, and without a retest the next block is a guess. The fee is SGD 90 for 75 minutes. It is credited toward the first 4-week membership if you start within 14 days of the report.

What does 1 coach per 4 people mean?

On a coached track, a coach is responsible for four people at a time. They watch the bar, check the log, and apply the load rule. They do not run a group circuit. The floor cap is 14, so at peak there are enough coaches to hold that ratio. Open Floor is self-directed; the coach is on the floor but is not assigned to your sets.

What if I miss a session?

A booked slot can be moved once if you give at least 12 hours’ notice. After that the session is spent. We do not stack missed hours onto the next week; the block calendar does not stretch. A freeze of two weeks is available once per 12-week block if you ask in writing before it starts.

Are week 4 and week 8 holidays?

No. They are deloads: volume about 40% lower, intensity held or dropped 5%. You still attend. You still log. They exist so weeks 5–7 and 9–11 are repeatable. Skipping them is not a clever way to “do more”.

I have a niggle. Which track?

If a doctor or physiotherapist has given written clearance, Return-to-Load is the track. If they have not, we will not load the limited pattern. We can still run the screens that are allowed and mark the rest “not tested”. We do not diagnose. We do not treat. Training is exercise.

Do you sell supplements or meal plans?

No. The membership fee is the floor, the sheet, and the coach ratio. We will not add a powder to the invoice, and we will not write a diet. If you want those, buy them somewhere else. The monthly brief does not pitch courses either.

What should I bring?

Training shoes you can squat in, a water bottle, and any clearance letter. A belt or straps if you already use them — we will note them so the retest matches. Change in the annex if you arrive from the office. Towels are not provided.

Is there parking?

Paid parking in Fortune Centre. We do not validate. Bugis MRT is the usual approach: East West and Downtown lines, then about eight minutes on foot along Middle Road. Bras Basah on the Circle line is the next station. Buses stop on Middle Road and Victoria Street.

Can I train every day?

The track names the session count. Extra days on the floor are not a shortcut. Open Floor can absorb extra hours only if the sheet has work for those hours. Random extra lifting is how a 12-week block becomes noise. If you want more, we add it at the deload review, on paper.

How do I pay?

The assessment is due before the slot. The first 4-week fee, or the 12-week block fee, is due before session one of the block. We confirm the method in the reply to your enquiry. There is no joining fee. Fees are in Singapore dollars as listed on the programmes page.

Who is this not for?

People looking for a music class, a daily randomised workout, a 30-day body-mass challenge, or a place to drop in without a sheet. Competitive powerlifting peaking and bodybuilding hypertrophy blocks sit outside the room. If that is the work you want, we will say so in the first reply rather than sell you a track that is not that.

The monthly brief

Once a month we send one page: what changed in the programme templates, what the retest numbers told us, and one coaching note you can use in your own training. It is not a course pitch and it is not a discount code. The sign-up sits in the footer of every page. You can leave the list by writing to [email protected].

The brief uses the email you typed and nothing else from the visit forms. If you asked for an assessment slot and also ticked the brief box, those are two separate permissions.

Still missing a row? The system page is the method. The programmes page is the fee table. The studio page is inventory and access.
